aargh

i wish Clementi Mall is open. that way i dun hav to travel so far to Jurong Point..n gg to IMM is getting redundant. West Mall - forget it, no offense but it's boring, and the lanes are narrow, it doesn't allow me to take leisure walk but hurry-hurry - thus to me it's only when i need to eat or buy sth at West Mall i den go

byebye Xi You Ji and so many more..

said goodbye to Malaysia's broadcast of Xi You Ji...fine, fine, i admit: i'm one of the generations who grew up watching Xi You Ji and i enjoy it so much that for all these years i've been hoping to see it again. TCS had their repeated telecasts but that's when i was working. And somehow watching too many repeats sian liao

so there i was one day at IMM when i passed by a video shop that showed Xi You Ji. Nostalgic, i thought, so i stayed on and watched but i realised it wasn't the one that i grew up with - it seems new. The more i passed by the shop the more i'm convinced that it's new

it wasn't when i was fiddling channels with the remote control that i saw the same video that i saw at IMM. Thank goodness it was a channel that was not so blur although there's noise - can see ok liao. As i watched on i yelled in excitement to my mum "NEW *XI YOU JI!!!"

so every night i faithfully watched. And got very frustrated if i miss one night cos i wasn't at home. After a while my mum joined me - our family primetime after "Love"

Some stories drag too long until i get bored and change channels, some stories got me crying, but everytime when the three disciples walk with their teacher i start laughing because of the antics of Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie. It took quite some time for Sha Wujing and finally - Tang Sanzang, their teacher - joins in their little fun, but more to teaching them

i'm not sure if TCS has broadcasted it but i doubt so because of it's somewhat "vulguar" language used by Sun Wukong and sometimes Zhu Bajie, not to mention one disgusting scene when Sun Wukong disguised himself as Zhu Bajie's bride forcing him to kiss the big boil on 'her' feet which the pus exploded in Zhu Bajie's face and Zhu Bajie licked the pus on his face to pacify his 'bride' - i still have to control my vomit as i'm typing this

but this series - Tang Sanzang is erm..stronger, i guess, than the very first series i've watched. This 'new' Xuanzang even teaches demons what is right and what is wrong, he scolds Wukong more times than the original, sent Wukong away two times, teaches his disciples - talks more than the old series X3 handsome also laaaaah

but what got me squealing and blushing is - FANSERVICE!!!!! i mean, in my point of view. I have NEVER seen Xuangzang looking so human when faced with two main female characters throughout the series. Even at the 2nd last episode one of his disciples asked him something like if he has any feelings for one of them. To that another disciple answered in understanding on Xuanzang's behalf - MY JAW HUNG..WAAAAAAT?!! this is so honest a series about Tang Sanzang!!!!

aaah...i miss the 1986 series..the actors of that series came to Singapore too!!! So cute, i remembered how they drew the characters to promote the interview section: all four Xi You Ji characters with their smiling faces on the mrt train, "Xi You Ji comes to Singapore!" so went something like that

i was disappointed that Liu Xiao Ling Tong did not act in this new series because he and his generations before him were well-known for their research in and roles of Sun Wukong. 20 years have passed...u tink they dun age meh..

but come to think of it, the new Justice Bao series got back the original characters for which i'm VERY happy about - THEY GOT BACK MY FAVOURITE ZHAN ZHAO!!!! siiiiiiigh...must be makeup cos THEY DUN SEEM TO HAVE AGED!!!! especially Zhan Zhao X3

oh i missed Love Cuts, the same actor who protrayed Zhan Zhao X3 dang, it must be a good movie..i think Zhu Houren is a good director, i saw the trailer, i guess it was really worth the watch. Sorry i'm a student, can't anyhow spend money..so have to give up on watching Kenny Ho in that movie..sigh but..fangirl reaquest: ..can he team up with Kaneshiro Takeshi for a movie..?

back to Xi You Ji...there's a new one coming up this year...if TCS wants to get its hands on it, maybe be cautious about the character's lines before broadcasting and calling it a "family series"

senile dementia - i'm going crazy

perhaps "Good Morning Singapore" could do an issue on senile dementia: what it is, the different forms of it, how is it caused, stemmed from physical to emotional causes (eg brain cells degeneration, clinging too much on childhood memories, untreated emotional issues), from mild to severe level how to deal with it (memory loss: write down everything, untreated emotional issues: go take a walk, go for counselling) but don't keep emphasising on "caregivers should this n that" - make it a serious issue as it is as serious as cancer. So far it's still on a 'lightly-taken' level

i'm really going mad with an untreated senile dementia person who always says, "I'm not senile!" and disturbs me everyday with noise, talking to self, too many unnecessary movements, makes a mess of the house but still has the capacity to receive information from watching TV all the time - and doesn't keep the clothes when it's raining

please give us - the affected family members - a chance to live and not live in mental torture from another family member who stubbornly refuses to accept medical/counselling treatment and wrecking havoc in the house and to our physical, emotional and mental state

i'm begging to all parties concerned to help alleviate my insanity as a member of a family affected by an untreated senile dementia member of the family who stubbornly refuses treatment by really enforcing the issue of senile dementia on TV, in newspapers, in all languages here in Singapore - let them be aware of it, and let them have enough medical expenses to consult and be treated for a lifetime

being a long-term illness the seriousness of senile dementia equivalates to cancer - it is that serious

emicakes

Clementi Ave 5

from one devasting encounter to a pleasant one

Through my searches for a good cake shop, my mum found this one. This shop gives us HDB dwellers a taste of "high-class". I've never tasted top-quality cakes within a HDB environment - this shop does

Good packaging too. I've never seen HDB cakes presented so high-class before. Dig the taste of their cakes - sweeeet chocolate cake lovers' paradise. Their other cakes are so cute and so inviting too that - i wanna buy everything they have on the shelves!!!

Try their durian puffs - i thought a durian seed was inside cos it's exactly what i tasted inside the puff!!!!

Due to their uncompromising sweeeet THICK (HAAAVEEEEN) cakes with nice presentation (my mum insists on keeping their packaging - i eat, i clean up - lor..hai..) it does cost much more than an average HDB cake BUT IT'S VALUE FOR MONEY, every single cent painstakingly poured into the cakes for ur sweet-tooth-pleasure

Gotta try!!!

oh but erm..for those who have tasted good tiramisu from restaurants, coffee places, etc ..erm..avoid their tiramisu. You can't blame this shop: tiramisu demands expensive ingredients to make the "right one", this shop has done its best for its tiramisu - it's definitely higher-grade and better than the cheapo HDB-level cake shop i'll say - leave it for us HDB-dwellers to have a taste of what a high-high-grade tiramisu would be from this shop ba X3

photostating problems

never ever go to Clementi Ave 5 to photostat. Their photocopying machine jams and they make a mess out of the order of photostating copies when i asked for double-sided. My old cert which was arranged neatly at the back of the original pile was photostated to the front of the pile. And when their machine jams they screwed up ALL my paper arrangement and when they packed, they mixed my original with the photostated copies

the jamming problem has happened to the people who were queuing in front for their copies to be photostated as well

1. With the money they had accumulated from their earnings i dun see why they can't invest in a NEW photocopying machine - pay the new machine via installments wun kill u

2. Stop your business if your machine keeps jamming - go invest in a new machine first

3. DO NOT SCREW UP ARRANGEMENT OF ORIGINAL COPIES

4. DO NOT mix original with photostated copies all lumped into one pile. Put originals in front according to order followed by photostated copies

Thanks to that shop $5 worth of photostated copies ALL WASTED

Then i went to Jurong East Central.

1. When i say i want double-sided give me double-sided. Just because it is so inconvenient to flip one side after another purposely give me one-sided - cheat me of 3 sets. Seriously screw you for being so lazy and unprofessional

PLEASE ADD IN ONE PHOTOSTATING SHOP WITH GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT CLEMENTI CENTRAL SOON

Koi Cafe

nono, not the Japanese fish. Not really a cafe at my neighbourhood either. It's a stall, selling bubble tea. So popular that u can find students roaming around its stall before it opens. When it does, there's already a short queue which builds up the whole day - queue and wait for your drink = total time 55 minutes and that's the norm!

So wat's so great about this bubble tea stall? I've heard rave reviews from three good friends and my mum got into the queuing spirit - to get me to queue lah!

my first drink was cold cappucino. SUPER STRONG. So strong that i couldn't sleep the whole night, tossing and turning in bed, only managed short naps in between 4-5am! From then on i was a walking zombie - not your average low-grade bubble tea. I LOVE IT!!!!

Green tea means green tea. Plum green tea means u can TASTE the plum flavour and the green tea in the drink. What amazes me was although there are two strong distinct flavours in one drink itself! No diluted taste unlike the rest of the bubble tea joints i've tried.

wat's even more impressive is its pearls which fit in ANY drink - from cold coffee to cold tea - all across the board! Something that the bubble joints i've been to CANNOT achieve: either their pearls fit one drink but not the other or their pearls are terrible-tasting.

After trying three Koi Cafe drinks i am convinced of its popularity and boldness to even open a joint in Illuma (Illuma's rent not cheap lor, in the middle of town area!)

Thanks to Koi Cafe my sleepy little neighbourhood is alive - after sleeping for 20 over years
